Meet our team of vets, nurses and client support at our new vets in Wetherby.

Helen Blackburn

Director and Lead Veterinary Surgeon

I love knowing my patients – it is important to me that both the pets and their owners feel like they can come to us with any problems, and that their time here is as pleasant as possible. We treat every animal as an individual, and the best way to achieve that is to give them time and listen to their needs.

Julian Norton

Director and Veterinary Surgeon

I’ve been practising as a vet for almost 25 years and Sandbeck represents one of the most exciting phases of my veterinary life. It’s a joy to be part of this amazing team and having the chance to be involved from its inception is a wonderful opportunity. For us all, Sandbeck is a once in a lifetime chance to make the perfect vet practice!

Mark Harrison

Director and Veterinary Surgeon

I have 25 years experience as a vet and jumped at the chance to work with friends and colleagues who I knew were as committed as I am to providing a wonderful, relaxed, friendly yet professional environment for our patients and their clients.

Ed Brownlee

Veterinary Surgeon

I graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2019 and I have been working in a small animal practice in the North West since then. I am originally from Leeds so jumped at the opportunity to move closer to home. I love to spend as much time as possible outside enjoying the countryside with my rescue dog Bonnie.

Tracy Hemingway

Practice Manager and Director

My passion has always been animals and people so a role where I could interact with both was my dream job! When I was given the opportunity to work with friends at our own practice, alongside like-minded individuals who share my passion, providing an exceptional service and care for pets and their owners, I didn’t have to think twice.

Lucy Spencer

Registered Veterinary Nurse

I enjoy all aspects of being a nurse, especially working with the inpatients and seeing them improve on a daily basis. I have always had a love for animals and this job has allowed me to work with them everyday in a stress-free environment. At home I have two crazy cats called Bella and Willow.

Kaitlyn Foster

Auxiliary Nurse

I graduated from askham bryan college in 2019 as an animal care assistant, and I hope to fulfil my dream of becoming a veterinary nurse in the future. I have always had a love for animals and have many myself including nine rabbits four of which are giants.

Sarah Jones

Veterinary Nurse

I have been very lucky in doing my dream job for over 26 years and this year I have been a qualified Veterinary Nurse for 24 years. Animal welfare is my passion and I have special interest in Preventative Health Care (nurse clinics) and Small Animal Nutrition. I am also the proud owner of a lunatic lurcher and a total lover of all hounds, in particular Greyhounds.

Sarah McDean

Veterinary Receptionist

I have always loved animals and had them all my life from a pony down to guinea pigs but mostly dogs. My background has been mainly in customer services and more recently became a Veterinary receptionist which also requires providing a high level of service to our clients and care to the patients. I am lucky that I get to work around animals and their owners every day.
